Meet Ross!

Ross teaches piano as well as keyboard at Clearwater Music School. He will ensure that you have fun and enjoy your piano and keyboard lessons in addition to picking up the essentials. Ross already has over 3 years teaching experience, teaching pupils of all ages. 

Whatever your taste in music, Ross will be able to teach you a variety of genres including Pop, Rock, Jazz and Blues. We can also have you playing all the latest hits as Ross can figure out simple versions of all your favourites, just ask!

Music Theory lessons are also available from Ross. They are always an advantage as it enables you to read music with more ease and improve your all round musical knowledge. As much or as little of this can be incorporated into the lessons based on your own preference.

Ross can also help with all GCSE Music Tech’ studies, composition and song writing.

Meet Stephen!

Stephen’s love for music began at an early age and he has now been playing the piano for over 15 years. Music has always been his ambition and he has been involved in many live performances with bands, choirs and for musical/stage productions.

He teaches a wide variety of music genres including Pop/Rock, Jazz, Musical Theatre, Film & Classical Music. Stephen also provides students with audio recordings to show their progress and skills for reading music, songwriting, improvisation & music theory.

Meet Paul!

Paul Topping started playing the piano at the age of six, and the guitar at eight, taking lessons from Paul Greenhalgh and Martin Roscoe (Piano), Peter Rose (Piano & Composition) and Neil Smith (Guitar). Whilst at the Birmingham Conservatoire, he studied piano with Frank Wibaut and composition with John Mayor. He was awarded a scholarship in his third year. Paul graduated majoring in Composition and has since gained further performance and teaching qualifications. After graduating in 1993, he worked with Second Sight Productions (Birmingham) for a short while, writing music for documentary and educational productions, and taught at various music services in both Birmingham and Dudley.
He is now based in the Northwest as a peripatetic instrument tutor at Westholme School, Queen Elizabeth Grammar School, Oakhill College and Blackburn School of Music. He continues to perform and has given a ‘Brief History of Jazz Piano’ presentation at the Ribble Valley International Piano Week and The Ribble Valley Jazz Festival. Following on from an organ scholarship at St Peter’s Church, Salesbury, Paul is currently an organist and director of music at Immanuel Church, Oswaldtwistle, playing regularly for churches in the Lancashire area. He is an active ‘student performance’ promoter and accompanies for student instrumental exams. He enjoys performing with his teaching colleagues, being involved in several performance ensembles from duos to octets!
